The Kathmandu Valley, a fascinating city is an exotic creating of nature. It is a historical city relating much of its old-world charma, traditional and cultural. In brief, Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal. Geographically, Kathmandu Valley is surrounded by green mountain walls above which tower mighty snow crapped peaks. The Kathmandu Valley covers an area of 218 sq. miles and is situated at 1310 m. above the sea level.
It consists of three main cities of great historic and cultural interest, Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur (Bhadgaon). The city now straddles the wide valley floor drained by the Bagmati and Vishnumati rivers.
