The Manaslu area in Gorkha district is a classic setting to
experience pristine mountain nature and culture. The conservation area starts
at 600 m and is crowned by the eight highest peak in the world Mt. Manaslu at
8163 m. The region is home to 33 species of mammals including snow leopard,
musk deer and Himalayan Tahr. There are over 110 species of birds and three
species of reptiles and over 1,500-2000 species of flowering plants.
